How we work
London Drain Experts is the trading name of Greater London Drainage Ltd. We are based at W1C in Westminster and cover the whole of Greater London, with engineers typically 60 to 90 minutes from any address in the capital and an average response time of 75 minutes.
The business has been family-run since 2013. That is not a marketing line: it shapes how the work is priced and how problems get explained. There is no incentive structure pushing an engineer towards a bigger job than the one in front of them.
Fixed prices, and what that actually means
Every job is quoted as a fixed price before work begins, not as an hourly rate. A difficult blockage takes the time it takes, and that is our problem rather than a growing number on your invoice.
We never charge a call-out fee. Not at night, not at weekends, not on bank holidays. If we attend and the fault turns out to sit on a shared drain or a public sewer, which is usually the water company’s responsibility rather than yours, we tell you that plainly even though it means there is no job in it for us.
What we will not do
- Clear the same drain repeatedly without telling you there is an underlying fault
- Quote below-ground repair work without surveying it first
- Recommend excavation where a no-dig repair would hold
- Promise a permanent outcome we cannot stand behind
Drainage work does not guarantee specific outcomes, because results depend on the existing condition of the system. What we can commit to is diagnosing honestly, pricing before we start, and showing you the evidence.
Credentials
We are fully insured and every job we complete is guaranteed. Our engineers are experienced and vetted, and our work follows the relevant standards: BS EN 752 for drainage outside buildings, BS EN 12056 for gravity systems within them, and Part H of the Building Regulations for anything installed below ground.
We are rated 5 out of 5 on Google and hold verified profiles with Checkatrade and MyBuilder.

All of Greater London. Our core coverage runs from Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea through the south and west of the capital to Croydon and Greenwich, and north through Camden, Islington, Hackney, Brent and Ealing. Around 2,000 jobs this year across residential and commercial property.
