Backfill

The material returned to a trench above a newly laid drain. It has to be free of large stones and compacted in layers, or the ground above will settle and the pipe may be damaged.

What it means for you

Sunken ground along a recent trench line usually means the backfill was not compacted properly.

Not sure whether this applies to your property? Ask us. There is no call-out charge and the price is fixed before any work starts.
