Before we arrive
Before the engineer arrives, a couple of things make a real difference:
- Hold off on taps, showers and appliances, especially washing machines
- Move children and pets away from the affected area
- Make sure the chambers can be reached
- Jot down what is draining and what is not when you ring
Who pays for the repair
Not every blockage is yours to pay for. Since 2011, most shared drains and lateral drains in England belong to the water company, so a fault out in the road is not yours to fund. We identify the location and are straight with you about it, even where it means there is no job in it for us.
What it costs in SE15
