We are a family-run firm covering London since 2013, and SE1 is inside our core coverage. It includes Southwark, Bermondsey, Borough and Waterloo.
What we cover in SE1
SE1 covers Southwark, Bermondsey, Borough and Waterloo, in the London Borough of Southwark and Lambeth. We work for householders and businesses alike in this area, from a slow sink to a complete system.
Southwark, Bermondsey and Waterloo combine warehouse conversions, offices and estates on tidal, low-lying ground. Long horizontal waste runs in converted buildings and grease from the high-street food trade dominate the work here.
Common causes in SE1
The bulk of the jobs in SE1 has one of these behind it:
- Waste water rising from a manhole
- Nothing draining anywhere in the property
- Sewage appearing in a ground-floor fitting
- Flooding after a storm
Signs worth reporting
What tends to prompt the call across SE1:
- Water sitting in a drain outside long after use
- More than one appliance backing up, rather than a single sink
- A glugging noise from a plughole when something else empties
- A drain smell outside that is stronger in warm weather
How the visit works
We work to the same order on every visit, so nothing turns into an open-ended bill:
- We give you a realistic arrival time on the call
- Stop using water in the property until we arrive
- Most emergencies are resolved in one visit
- You find out if the pipe itself needs work
Before we arrive
Useful steps before we arrive:
- Keep water use to nothing, particularly appliances on a timer
- Keep people and pets away from any standing waste water
- Make sure the chambers can be reached
- Have your postcode and a description ready for the call
Who pays for the repair
The first question on a shared drain is whose it is. Pipework inside your boundary serving only your property is yours; beyond that, and on anything shared, it is generally the water company’s. We put that in writing after the visit.
What it costs in SE1
Emergency attendance starts at a fixed £120 plus VAT, and we never charge for coming out. You get a fixed figure rather than a running clock, so a difficult job in SE1 does not become an expensive surprise.
