We are a family-run firm covering London since 2013, with E9 among the areas we attend most. It includes Homerton, Hackney Wick and Victoria Park.
What we cover in E9
E9 takes in Homerton, Hackney Wick and Victoria Park, within Hackney. We attend both residential and commercial property here, from a slow sink to a complete system.
Homerton and Hackney Wick pair Victorian streets with warehouse conversions and newer flats. Converted buildings often route drainage through communal areas, so access has to be arranged with the building.
Common causes in E9
In E9, the usual culprits are:
- Grease from the kitchen, which cools and hardens inside the pipe
- Cleaning wipes, which hold together all the way to the sewer
- Tree and shrub roots finding an open joint
- Silt and grit building up where flow slows
Signs worth reporting
What to tell us on the call:
- Water standing in an outside gully when nothing is running
- More than one appliance backing up, rather than a single sink
- Gurgling from a toilet or sink as another appliance drains
- A drain smell outside that worsens after rain
How the visit works
Every job follows the same sequence, which is how we can quote a fixed price:
- Check the chambers along the run to find where the flow stops
- Work out which side of the boundary the fault sits
- Clear it with high-pressure jetting at a pressure suited to the pipe
- Run water through every fitting before we finish
Before we arrive
Before the engineer arrives, these few things genuinely help:
- Keep water use to nothing, particularly appliances on a timer
- Cordon off contaminated ground
- Make sure the chambers can be reached
- Have your postcode and a description ready when you ring
Who pays for the repair
On terraced and converted property, ownership is the first thing to settle. Your own run up to the boundary is your responsibility; shared runs and anything past the boundary generally are not. We record it so you have something to act on.
What it costs in E9
Outside drain clearance is a fixed £144 plus VAT. Prices are fixed rather than hourly, which means a stubborn blockage costs what we said.
