If you have a drain survey in E1, we are typically 60 to 90 minutes away. We attend jobs throughout Whitechapel, Stepney, Wapping and Spitalfields and the streets around them, at any hour, every day of the year.
What we cover in E1
E1 takes in Whitechapel, Stepney, Wapping and Spitalfields, within Tower Hamlets. We work for householders and businesses alike in this area, from a slow sink to a complete system.
Whitechapel, Stepney and Wapping range from estates to warehouse conversions to newer flats. The Wapping riverside is tidal and low-lying, so surface water clears slowly after heavy rain.
Common causes in E1
Most of what we attend in E1 traces back to a handful of causes:
- A run that blocks again within weeks, which suggests something structural
- A purchase in progress, with mature trees close to the run
- An insurer asking for evidence that has to be supported properly
- An extension being planned, which needs the drain traced accurately
Signs worth reporting
What to tell us on the call:
- Standing water in a yard gully long after use
- More than one appliance backing up, which points at the shared run
- Gurgling from a toilet or sink as another appliance drains
- A drain smell outside that worsens after rain
How the visit works
What we do when we get there:
- Clear enough of the line for a usable view
- Record the entire line
- Record where each defect sits, and how deep
- Hand over the recording with a written report
Before we arrive
Useful steps before we arrive:
- Keep water use to nothing, particularly appliances on a timer
- Cordon off contaminated ground
- Move bins or planters off the inspection covers
- Have your postcode and a description ready when you ring
Who pays for the repair
Before anyone invoices you, it is worth knowing where the fault sits. Pipework inside your boundary serving only your property is yours; past the boundary it is normally Thames Water. We put that in writing after the visit.
What it costs in E1
A CCTV drain survey is a fixed £300 plus VAT, footage and written summary included. There is no call-out charge in E1, at any hour. The price is confirmed before we start.
